The Breastfeeding Atlas by Barbara Wilson-Clay and Kay Hoover has several photographs showing some of the variety of appearance of normal colostrum and of milk. The photos show samples matching the appearance described in posts in this thread (colostrum that resembles urine, and plasma).  As Nina Berry wrote, if the mother is happy to give the colostrum to her baby, it should be given, though I would add the caveat that the mother is not known to be mentally incompetent or evil.  How often is that an issue?

There is probably a lot more color variation than we know of, since we only observe expressed milk.  We have no clue what goes straight from breast to baby in most cases, except when they spit up.  Sometimes we're better off not knowing.
