THANK YOU!
34 yo mom G4 P2 due soon with #3
"Labor 1: Induced at 37w5d. Roughly 14 and a half hours from Cervadil to
baby.
Labor 2: Spontaneous. Somewhere around 9 hours from first ctx to baby
Baby boy #1 6 lbs 11 oz
Baby boy #2 8lbs 3 oz
Both vaginal births. First medicated, second unmedicated.
My issue is that my body does not seem to make colostrum. Both of my
children have gone almost 30 hours with out passing urine at which point I
have freaked out. I gave water to bb1 just to get him some liquid and make
sure they hadn't injured his penis when they circumcised him (which was my
fear). After we knew he COULD pee, I switched to formula.
I pumped (double electric) almost round the clock for 5 days before giving
up. I never got enough to even coat the bottom of a bottle.
A day or so later (7 or 8 days past birth time is fuzzy) I felt my milk come
in but I was done at that point.
I was dealing with kidney stones, too, and did not feel capable of trying
any more.
With bb2, I drank dark beer every other day in my final week of pregnancy.
I started taking More Milk Plus the day he was born. I didn't go straight
to bottles, I used an SNS for a few days, but we couldn't get his latch
right and was only getting formula according to the weight checks my LC was
doing. I was mentally beat down by day 5 or so and just quit. My milk came
in the next day.
I have never pumped past the point of feeling my milk come in so I don't
know what things are past that point."
