Well, the life of a postpartum doula doesn't allow enough time to read all posts thoroughly but I am glad I read yours, Cathy. It made me realize how much I have missed your active participation on LN during the times you have been quiet (and maybe nomail?). Your post is the epitome of why I stick around on LN - because we can have these discussions, with such incisive, well-reasoned contributions.
If we can keep this tone, we can continue to disagree in such a way that we can see the other person's point of view, and they ours. It's an exercise in open-mindedness and definitely worth the effort. Thanks, Cathy, for taking the time to send this one. I doubt I am the only one to appreciate it, and since I read it I have been staring at a four day old baby and eating supper and celebrating Mother's Day with my own daughter who has just become a mother, so there may have been a multitude of others who have already said the same things I am saying now. Some things, like 'thank you' can't be said too often, and JIC I apologize for any redundancy.
Here's to this list, long may it thrive.
