Many, many thanks to Esther Grunis! I copied Dr. Kotlow's phamphlet this morning and put it in my bag as I left to visit a mom with latch problems. As soon as I saw the baby's open mouth, I knew it was more than latch. When the mother looked, she commented that it looked as if the baby had two tongues. I gave the parents the pamphlet. The couple called the ped. who agreed to look at the baby ASAP and will clip as necessary. Even though mom still has sore nipples, there are two very relieved and happy parents this evening.

Subject: tongue tie reattaching
IN this pamphlet, created by Larry Kotlow, who is a pediatric dentist, and
member of IATP, who does tongue revisions using lasers, you can see the
stretching exercises recommended to reduce scarring and reattachment. Page
16. This material is for parents of babies about to undergo tongue tie
revision, and I find it very useful to show them the pictures of the various
types of TT, as well as the stretching exercises.
