It sounds like this mom is very motivated to make breastfeeding work. (Yey!) If oversupply and OAMER have been ruled out I would recommend she trial totally eliminating the most common allergens from her diet (dairy, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, shell fish, fish), keep a careful diet diary and possibly start taking pancreatic enzymes prior to having the baby worked up for eosinophilic esophagitis. As Nikki mentioned the testing can involve rather invasive testing for the baby. Personally I would make that the last resort...
