Dear Lactnet Friends:

I wonder if the reason that Safe Sex is an official public health policy,
but Safe Bedsharing isn't, has to do with corporate interests.

Safe Sex means buying condoms. This is lovely for the condom industry.

Safe Bedsharing means buying nothing. Whereas anti-bedsharing is supported
by the crib Industry (who were the first to open this dreadful can of worms
about 20 years ago, remember that early CPSC report) and the formula
industry (who also give money to this cause) because if the mother can't
sleep with her baby, her drowsiness during night feeds scares her.
