In terms of vitamin d supplementation, it depends on what the vit d 25
level is and what the baby is consuming.
For example, in our babies if the 25-OH-vitamin D < 20 ng/mL then we
Increase vitamin D to 1200 units initially. Then, increase
incrementally, up to max 2000 units/day. If the 25-OH-vitamin D is 20 -
30 ng/mL then we Increase vitamin D to 800 units initially. Then,
increase vitamin D incrementally, up to max 2000 units/day. We check
levels every month in the hospital & every three months outpatient.
Hope this is helpful.
