Two questions are posed. My take follows.
Question 1: Can IBCLCs do a workshop and be paid by a formula company and
still respect the Code and the Standards of Practice for IBCLCs?
No. See WHO Code at 4.3, 5.1, 6.2, 6.3 and especially 7.3 at
http://www.ibfan.org/issue-international_code-full.html
Question 2: Can CERPS be attributed for attending a workshop sponsored by a
formula company?
No. See IBLCE policy on CERPs: commercial entities of any kind (not
just WHO-Code-covered marketers) may not provide educational sessions
for which CERPs may be awarded. See page 8, in particular at
http://www.americas.iblce.org/upload/CERPsProviderPacket-2011.pdf.
Note that organizations *other than* IBLCE may award continuing
education credits for such commercially-sponsored sessions, but IBCLCs
need CERPs.
