am wondering if the Simplisse pump might come closer to duplicating the
feeling of a baby at the breast, and thereby be more helpful for starting
milk productiion.

Cohort of one: family with HUGE # of issues, mom opened this pump around
day 4 or 5, and got a nice amount of milk with first pumping. Then it broke I
believe within a few hours, they took it back to the store and got another
brand with a longer-standing reputation ( PnS). Their comment was that the
new pump worked over time, but did not move as much milk as easily as the
Simplesse. This may have been confounded by the fact that they didn't use
it long enough to really see what would have happened with supply after a
day or so.
