Hi Judy,
I would also be worried about the long-term breastfeeding
relationship. I think you have given mother the info and options, but
if you haven't given her all the options and various scenarios, do so.
I, too, have seen this sort of case lead to dwindling milk supply and
poor wt gain. It may be that this mother desires to breastfeed for
only 3 months, and therefore is not worried about bf for the
biological norm, several years. However, the dental and oral airway
issues should be shared with her as well.
