Hi Lesley,

I would think that a slow letdown sort of goes hand in hand with a lower

supply. A good supply usually has a brisk letdown.

Of course, there are the surgeries, and the reduced sensation, which

seem to indicate nerve injury. I am going to assume that 

there was considerable breast assymetry pre-op since she's had a

reduction and an implant on either side. Not sure there is a 

quick fix to this, although I would certainly support and encourage this

determined mother, as I know you are doing. I think continue

to build supply, perhaps use imagery and baby's smell to enhance the

letdown, perhaps other things to sort of condition the reflex.

Has mom ever tried bf with a lactation aid (LA), so she can just relax

into the feeding more? The more I use the LA, the easier it gets.
