I see a lot of swallowing problems in babies diagnosed with 'colic'.
When we fix the flow or the tongue tie that was causing difficulty with
a normal flow, the colicky crying usually goes away. Try looking at the
suck:swallow:breathe coordination of this baby. Using a stethescope
under the baby's chin (cervical auscultation) is very helpful to hear
signs of stridor, incomplete swallows, multiple swallows, breath holding
during feeding (feeding induced apnea), etc. There's information on the
topic in Supporting Sucking Skills in BF Infants.
