My guess, of course is that there needs to be a reclippng. But, if not (and even if) please get this kid referred for structural work, which IMO should be done in every single case of TT. Clipping does not repair the compensations. And is mom doing tongue exercises?

Subject: Post frenectomy: still chomping and little transfer
I have an interesting case. Permission to post. At 2 weeks the baby was not
transferring milk and losing weight. When I went to see her this mom was
supplementing with formula to gain the weight. Mom has dream nipples. Baby
would pop off and on at breast. When this little one did suck a few times
there was obvious signs of not being able to suck, swallow and breathe.
Bottle feeding was the messiest as about 1/3 was not swallowed and spit out.
I noticed a pretty obvious tongue tie where it appeared to have two
frenelums crissed-crossed. Does that make any sense? Mom went to get
clipped. I have not seen mom and baby for two weeks now and mom reports
there is no difference with baby's reaction to breastfeeding. Pops off and
on, chomps, no transfer. Mom did not go to my regular surgeon so there is a
possibility that this baby is still tied. If I see that the tongue was
clipped well what other reasons for this behavior? Thank you so much!
