Here are a few links about bag style slings.  They have been a concern in the babywearing community for a few years.  The problem is that a baby can not protect his airway and can suffocate due to the curled up position that the sling puts the baby in.

I think you may need to log in to be able to read this thread but is excellent and has photos of the bag sling and other infant carriers in use. Another issue with bag style slings is that one can not breastfeed while the baby is in one, the baby can not see out of it and it is hard to see the baby inside of it.
