Guess my age ( 56) is telling on me. Our youngest son Cody is now drifting, which isn't homeless, but a style of car racing, which involves driving/skidding sideways through a series of tight turns/obstacle course of cones, without hitting the cones. I have attended several events, and notice that the drivers and their families have a high number of piercings and tatoos, and "different styles of dressing". Of course Stacy and the grandsons attend with us. While meeting and greeting the other drivers and families, I have noticed many babies and toddlers being breastfed at the?raceway, in bleachers, on the pavement, under the tents. Stacy loves being a nursing mom along with the other moms, sharing that bond. My age notices the piercings and tatoos, my love of breastfeeding notices the babies and toddlers at the breast, my family awareness notices the love between the dads, moms and babies. It's a new age into which I guess I am being introduced. I think being a grandmother has relaxed me and my attitude and made me more tolerant. accepting, and loving. Is there a oxytocin surge associated with becoming a grandmother????
