I've been reading a series of discussions in our Spanish La Leche League
Leader group while they brainstorm what symbols to encourage
agencies/governments to use to represent infants and children to replace a
pacifier, which seems to be used universally. These are not for a location
to breastfeed (we already have that symbol), but where to bring children to
be safe or play, or where items for babies or children are sold, etc. So
far they have come up with:
For Baby
. Rattle
. Baby socks/shoes
. Teething ring/teether
. Bib
. Stuffed toy
For children
. Ball
. Car
. Doll
. Coloring book and crayons
. Finger puppets
Perhaps these could be shared with those who make gift wraps and decorations
for all the baby parties (showers, birth celebrations and early birthdays).
.now if we could come up with another CONTAINER besides a baby bottle to
collect funds for organizations that serve mothers and babies.I get upset
twice a year when baby bottles are brought to our church by legitimate
organizations that desperately need the help!
