Wise ones,

Am supporting a mother with underweight twins, 11 weeks old. She has
successfully breastfed two older siblings, but had problems from the
beginning with the twins, who were slightly premature.

In her own words...

"I have a Hypothyroid, I am taking 150 mcg of levothyroxine daily but
was only on 75 prior to falling pregnant this time. I have been
diagnosed since the birth of my first child 4 + years ago and have
Auto-immune thyroiditis. I believe I have had low thyroid since around
age 12 but was not discovered till pregnancy gave me a large goitre."

Mother has not had any blood work done since the birth, and has been
advised to request a blood test from her GP immediately.

Does anyone have any research or experience of the level of
levothyroxine being needed, being more for the feeding of twins? I hope
that makes sense.

Many thanks

Morgan Gallagher
