For you wise ones,
I am looking for advise or an answer. I looked the Breastfeeding Atlas and found something similar but I am not sure what is causing it. Baby latched on left side and nursing well, lost seal during active suckling and relatched. When baby came off the nipple is larger at the top indented in the middle and slightly flat on bottom. Not quite like a nuk pacifier nipple. Latched right side and the right nipple was more outward on top and bottom but not in the middle. I did a digital assessment. Baby has good mobility of her tongue. She stretches out well past her lips, lifts to top of gum and laterally lifts well. She didn't like me gloved finger so I held it back some I did notice that after a few times of good peristaltic tongue movements she raised the back of her tongue up and then proceeded to suckle well again. What am I missing? She does transfer some colostrum I could auscultate swallows during her feeding.
Thanks again,
Terri
