Terriann asks about naptime. I've had participants in the 3-day class I
teach  come from a hospital system in New Jersey where there is a naptime
from 1 to 3 (or is it 2 to 4) in the afternoon. Everyone loves it. The
nurses can catch up with their paperwork, and have a better chance of
getting off work on time. The mothers and babies love it.

When the average mother is never alone with her baby for more than 9 minutes
for many of their interactions, when the average number of visits in 12
hours on Day 1 postpartum is 54....naptime is a blessed relief. (And thanks
to Barbara Morrison PhD for her research about interruptions.)
