Hi everyone...I'm new to Lactnet and am excited to have the capability to
chat with others re: lactation. My co-worker, Arly Helm, has raved about
Lactnet for some time now.
You all may have discussed this thoroughly, but I still need to find better
solutions for tip plugs. It seems as winter approaches, we get more
complaints of tip plugs that don't seem to respond right away to massage,
heat, feeding position changes, etc. Some women have them for days before
finally getting them out. They are truly miserable, as I had them myself
from time to time. I've recently asked women to try soaking their nipples in
a warm saline solution for 5 minutes or more...but have no theoretical basis
whether or not it works. I'm not sure if this really is helping or not..the
feedback has been vague. Also... what is the dose of Vit.C and lecithin that
ya'll are finding works for those moms plagued with frequent tip plugs?
Thanks!
