I'm afraid that the more time passes from the actual events that defined that word - the more often it is being used in general, common conversation - a doctor asked me if I was one during my gyn physical!
To me it is even more horrible than the "other" N word...and that one makes me want to throw up, even when I hear it in music!
Thanks for coming up with a strong reply - it means that some still remember what it really means! I will use it whenever possible - not only to defend my profession - but to remind people what the meaning of that word really is!
