I seem to be receiving a lot of posts (such as the one below) with no
subject line and no signature. This is fairly recent/ Are people just
forgetting to put subject lines and signature lines on their posts or are they
disappearing into cyberland? List moms, any thoughts?

The sample AAP and ABM hospital policies don't make any allowance for a
difference in breastfeeding frequency of the well newborn in the 1st 24 hours
of life. They both suggest in a blanket statement that the infant feed 8
- 12 times in any given 24 hours. It is not my experience that newborns,
in the 1st 24 hours of life, eat that frequently. My concern is that this
is a vulnerable time for the hospitalized infant to be supplemented because
nurses feel obligated to attempt to have the infant feed to the specified
frequency by policy and if not will push for supplementation. I have been
searching for evidence to show that the first days of life are different
than subsequent days with regard to breastfeeding frequency. Does anyone have
suggestions for me? Thanks.
