The only problem that I see with your figures is that most formula fed
babies get much more than you projected! Pat in SNJ

I have had little luck finding stats on the cost of formula although I know
it has been done. So, I spent my morning doing it myself. I share it here
so you don't have to search also.

Minimum cost for exclusively formula fed babies on "regular" formula cost
$15/can of powder
For a newborn to 1 month old who will have a 2 ounce bottle 7x a day
Cost/week: $8.33

For a 2 month - 6 month old who will have a 4 ounce bottle 7x a day
Cost/week: $17

For a 7 month - 1 year old who will have an 8 ounce bottle 4x a day
Cost/week: $33

Average cost per 2 oz serving: .17

Minimum cost for exclusively formula fed babies on "hypoallergenic" formula
cost $25/can of powder
For a newborn to 1 month old who will have a 2 ounce bottle 7x a day
Cost/week: $14

For a 2 month - 6 month old who will have a 4 ounce bottle 7x a day
Cost/week: $28

For a 7 month - 1 year old who will have an 8 ounce bottle 4x a day
Cost/week: $56

Average cost per 2 oz serving: .29

Cost SAVINGS if a mother breastfeeds a four month old 1 time every day: .34
per feed or almost $10 a month.
