Apologies for the cross post:
I will be seeing a mom in a couple days whose baby was diagnosed, in utero,
with too much fluid in the abdomen and around his heart at 29 wks gestation.
Baby also diagnosed with Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) - his heart rate
was between 200 - 240 and sometimes went above 240. She was put on bed rest
immediately and admitted to the hospital for 7 days when they also
discovered her Braxton Hicks weren't and she was put on the following meds:
Digoxin, Felcainide - to treat the fetal SVT. Nifedipine to prevent further
contractions (there was a reason they did not put her on mag or
tributaline). She also developed PUPPS while in the hospital and was put on
Hydroyzine HCI.
Baby was born at 36 wks 6 days (9/16/10).
Can anyone give me some good information, articles, links - whatever - on
SVT? Baby was seen by Cardiologist on 10/14 and got a clean bill of health.
He is however having BF challenges.
Any information will be much appreciated!
Thank you!
