That is totally ridiculous. That doctor is giving out unethical advice.
The predisposition to allergies is genetic. He should tell his moms with allergies to not get pregnant.
If he wants to prevent allergy 'transmission', he should tell women to not get pregnant.

Hi All,
I just had a pedi tell a new mom NOT to breastfeed because she has multiple
allergies and they would be passed on thru breastfeeding. I told the mom
that I had NEVER heard that and actually the exact opposite is true. I
plan to ask this Doc for her references-as in Gee I haven't heard that is
there some new literature that I'm not aware of? I'll let you all know what
she says.
