Hi all,

Thanks very much for your help.

Re sickness. It is great to hear that others are very strict too, in other words I suppose despite asking the question I already knew the answer. I am the only LC in PP in Northern Ireland. I am also the only LLL Leader currently in Northern Ireland. In other words Lactnet breaks the isolation. I find being in Private Practice high pressured enough without the added guilt of 'have I passed on the cold?'. Yesterday I had decided that I would have to put the mum off until Friday or preferably Monday. Sadly she texted me first and told me she had decided to stop expressing and trying to breastfeed and that she would contact me earlier next time she had a baby. When she first rang me on Tuesday she had had help from local health professionals, so there was no one else to refer her too. I explained skin to skin contact to her. Life can be frustrating. I still don't feel great but think I am at least on the mend. By Monday I hope to be fit enough to meet new mums (if necessary). I have had almost 1 client a week since October, which is a big improvment over last year.

Re facebook. Thanks for the helpful comments. I have now set up 2 facebook accounts - 1 personal the other for the business. I have also announced that I am married LOL (have been for a lot of years now)!!! I hope having 2 accounts will keep me right ethically as I obviously can't tell my LLL contacts about the new support group. Not sure I like facebook, but I suppose the challenge of keeping up to date with new technology is good for me.

Best wishes,

Sarah Mcann. BScHons IBCLC LLL Leader.
