In a personal conversation with Dr. Hale, he told me in his investigation of "ductal yeast" he noted a decrease in supply. He thought that moms taking diflucan thinking it effective for yeast, were actually helped by the decrease in supply, which helped with pain deep in the breast. Who knows what all the side effects that are unknown and seemingly unrelated from various medications we take?

Subject: Diflucan and milk supply decrease?

I have a mom who is taking Diflucan and swears that although her baby's poops and pees are fine, that her milk supply is decreasing ever since she started the med. Her breasts fill empty/sagging/flacid and her 5 month old baby is nursing every 30 min to 1-1/2 hours (used to be every 2-3 hours) and she does not hear the swallows that she is used to hearing.

Has anyone heard of Diflucan affecting milk supply? Curious.
