Poor mom!
You didn't ask for speculation re cause of low supply but for the benefit of
any new or aspiring LCs, I think it bears stating that it was likely a
multifactorial problem including, I assume, a fair amount of mother/baby
separation and delayed initiation due to mother's severe illness and c/sec.
Of course the HELLP syndrome is so serious and the blood loss contributes as
well.

I am also thinking there is continued mastitis manifesting as the continued
plugs, as you did say there was a postpartum wound infection, and I think we
can also assume that mother had/has a very weakened immune system.

If mother is committed to drying up, I think I would consider cultures and
sensitivities, and having her physician treat her with antibiotics, although
I know she had reaction(s) in the past. I think she can continue a SLOW
drying up process.
