Or review Catherine Watson Genna's book on Supporting Sucking Skills and look at the pictures of kneeling prone, floating prone, etc. positions. These work WONDERS! Review work by Donna Geddes on best positioning of nipple in mouth.

Subject: Bubble Palate - Suggestions for Positioning
Hi, Rebecca. I have had some success in this situation by using the 'straddle' position, especially when baby is tipped back somewhat. This is when the baby sits facing the mother (belly to belly), with baby literally straddling one of mom's legs. Mom supports baby's head behind the ears, a pillow can be used between mom and baby if more support/stability is needed.
Degree of angle that baby is tipped back will depend on size of mom's breasts.
Keep in mind that this only works well with a small baby and/or with a mother with a long torso. Works best with long torso/small breasts, but can also work with larger breasts, as long as mom doesn't mind suppporting the
breast and latch can occur with the proper angling.
It's not a position that can be maintained for long, as it requires a straight posture without much support, given that mom is often leaning a bit forward. If a deep latch occurs and mom finds it comfortable, you can try to tip her an and attached baby back into the couch/chair/bed and see what happens.
Good luck.
