Hello all,
Lisa in Canberra here. Just a question about use of maxalon. I am seeing a Mum with a 4 w.o. who is having supply and latching toubles. She clicks when feeding, not at first but towards the latter part of the feed. Anyway she was prescibed maxalon by her G.P to increase milk supply, and her course is now finished. She is worried about her supply decreasing. I said if she continues feeding frequently milk supply should increase but I wasn't sure if a sudden stopping of maxalon would correlate to a drop in supply.
Also, what is the best dose to increase supply?
She is feeing 8-10 times in 24 hours., including twice overnight.
Alos she has just been on a dose of antibiotics for mastitis.
Her breast still has lumps in them, so I recomended physio referral for ultrasound.
Baby is also going to have some osteopathy to see if this helps the latch.
That's all for now.
From Lisa in Canberra, who is very new at this private L.C. business, but enjoying the challenge
