Hello!
Permission to post regarding a pregnant mom (primip) in my CB class who was told she has papilloma cells in the discharge from her nipple.
I assured her discharge before delivery is normal. She states it had been clear and then one side was yellow, so it was tested. Her concern was about bf on that side. I don't know of any contraindication but wanted to check with you all.
I am more concerned about the follow up as she now has to see a breast surgeon. I have encouraged her to seek a bf friendly one but can see how the testing and diagnosing could head her toward weaning at least from that side.
Has anyone had a similar situation?
Thanks Carolyn Schindewolf, IBCLC Princeton NJ
