I heard Dr. Hale speak at a MOD conference in Rockford, IL last year. I have been waiting for him to publish the results of his work. He has been working with Dr. Newman on this.
Dr. Hale attempted to identify yeast colonies in a large number of milk samples and surface swabs. Surprisingly, he found NONE. He feels that what has been diagnosed as a yeast infection is actually bacterial in origin. Dr. Newman still feels that this yeast is the causative agent and points to his APNO which contains an anti-fungal agent as proof because it brings relief. Dr. Hale feels it is the antibiotic in APNO that is bringing relief.
I still recommend APNO quite often, but I have changed my view on yeast. I don't jump on the Diflucan wagon anymore. Too many women get little or no relief from antifungal agents.
My apologies to Dr. Hale if I have misspoken regarding this information.
