Dear colleagues,
A valuable reference I refer mothers to when asked about alcohol
intake is the Canadian Motherisk document "Drinking Alcohol While
Breastfeeding - Will it Harm My Baby?" Motherisk is a respected
organization affiliated with the Hospital for Sick Children and the
University of Toronto that offers evidence based information to
mothers and professionals on the safety of medications, products and
everyday exposures during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The document
contains a chart based on alcohol intake, mother's weight and time
that mothers find a useful as a guide. www.motherisk.org/women/updatesDetail.jsp?content_id=347
Warmly, Meggie
