Our counsellors learn that mastitis can be more common as Autumn turns to
winter (May to June here) because mothers wear more clothes. Hence when
they feed, their jumpers (sweaters, pullovers) are bunched up under their
arms and can cause blocked ducts. Could this be the problem in the other
hemisphere too?
~~ Interesting. That would make sense for the Fall into Winter timeframe,
not too much change in clothing here at this point but it's good to keep it
in mind as a possibility. I wonder if it has to do with change of seasons
being associated with changes in eating habits, or pace of life changes,
etc, as well and reactions to various other environmental things that change.
There is also the "holiday plugged ducts/mastitis episodes but they haven't
kicked in yet. Of course it could all be an artifact...life is such a
mystery...
Peace,
Judy
