Coincidentally I was reading the current issue of Azizah (a newish/hip American magazine for Muslim women) at a local library yesterday and noticed discussion of the importance/significance of milk kinship in light of both adoption and milk banks. I was delighted to see the magazine encourage adoptive mothers to nurse, and in a rather "normal" matter-of-fact way. The milk bank issue was more complicated, as you can imagine.
