No wonder one of the moms I was visiting had put a bottle nipple on her nipple - that's what these look like!  It took me a while to "wean" her baby first to a smaller, thinner silicone shield and then to mom - but she had milk!  

...and yes, THOSE are the nipple shields that were used to base the studies that reported that nipple shields compromised milk production and should NEVER be used...from the decades even before I became a leader in the 70's.
