Dear Friends:

I have heard that nurses in postpartum wards in Denmark have a special way
to wrap a sheet around a new mother and baby for safe bed-sharing. A poster
presented at the ILCA conference about Japan presented bed-sharing as a
routine practice in Japanese postpartum wards. I have a picture of a mother
and baby in bed in the postpartum ward together from Ghana, and have seen
video footage of mothers and babies in bed together from a Philippine
postpartum ward.

What other countries support the practice of mother/infant bed-sharing in
the postpartum ward?

warmly,
