What do you recommend to a mom with low supply as a galactagogue besides
pumping and frequent feeding?
While pumping and/or effective feeding are not galactogogues ( substances
that increases milk supply), they should increase supply, yes. If you are
looking for any behavioral thing that can increase supply, have the mom try
true skin-to-skin contact for as many hours as feasible. Stroking the baby,
holding the baby skin-to-skin, playing with the baby's hair and feet, can
release hormones that looking at the baby, or holding the baby while
everyone is fully clothed, may not.
Peace,
