I have a 32 year old client, first baby, who has lupus and an insufficient milk supply. Riordan and Auerbach mentions this as common. Mother is not on medication at this time.
Mom's question to me is which galactalogue is safe for her to use.
I found mentioned on the John Hopkins arthritis center site "We have found that the hormone prolactin, which rises during pregnancy, is associated with lupus activity during pregnancy." (referring to a lupus flare).
Might there be a problem with common herbs for increasing milk supply? Domperidone? (available in this country)
Thankyou,
Bracha Haskel
