This is purely anecdotal, but my sister in law with her 5th child decided to
give her probiotics.  She, the mom, has battled yeast issues for years, as a
teenager she was on antibiotics for severe acne, so she herself may have
leaky gut issues.  Anyway, her daughter of all her children was the least
fussy, least gassy and had the most normal bowel movements. She had really
fussy babies in the past and tried all kinds of elimination diets, but she
feels the probiotics helped the most.  She also took them herself.  She
breastfed 4 of her 5 children to self weaning and is still nursing her 4 and
2 year old:)
