hello lactnet,
 my dad had ortho/neuro surgery at chesapeake regional medical center 
(formerly called chesapeake general hospital) in chesapeake VA earlier this 
week.  post-op day 1 he had respiratory distress that my mother repeatedly 
reported to the nursing staff but she was dismissed and ignored. there seems 
to have been nursing care which I told my mom to document and file a 
complaint about, because he ended up in the ICU with pneumonia and on a 
vent, went back into surgery, back to the ICU, and will soon to go to 
stepdown.
if anyone has any connections to that facility, can share any good or bad 
experiences, (wants to pop into his room and keep tabs on someone in their 
lactnet "family's" family...), etc, please email me privately.
