Castor oil packs are always part of my approach to breast or nipple pain, including plugged ducts, blebs, mastitis
and engorgement. This is the way I do them: Soak a cloth (flannel, cotton diaper, wash cloth, etc) with castor oil
(not dripping, but well-soaked) and heat it in the microwave (on a baking sheet in the oven otherwise) and allow
to cool so it does not burn. Place the pack on the area for at least 20 minutes. Do this several times per day. It
quickly resolves inflammation.
<Perhaps a castor oil pack would help her clear the plug.>
Can you explain what a castor oil pack is? How is it done? How does it
work?
