Marianne and Sam
Thanks for your thoughtful and thought-provoking responses. You're
both quite right to remind us (me!) of the differences between
donations and dumping, and clarifying when gifts constitute hazard,
not help..... I once read about snow-ploughs being sent to
Uganda! Sending truckloads of LCs to far-off places instead is
_such_ a good idea - I'm trying to suggest the very same thing in
situations where these little foil packets of peanut paste are being
distributed in unbelievable quantities to treat, and lately to
prevent malnutrition in young children, and at the same time the aid
agencies seem to have completely forgotten about breastfeeding.
The rich variety of discussions, ideas flying everywhere on this
list, are what makes LACTNET so great :-)
