Other then encouraging her to feed frequently and pump milk when
necessary is there anything that can be done? The resources seem to say "wait it
out, baby will grow into the palate arch."

Hi Lea,
Commonly, the high arched palate is a sign that the babe has a tight
frenulum. In utero, over months, the tongue movements should lower and broaden
the palate if the tongue can move normally. If the tongue is restricted, the
palatal arch will remain high. Has the babe been checked for a sneaky,
posterior tongue-tie? Sometimes a really asymmetric latch with modified
football/clutch hold can help the baby draw more tissue in. I've also seen
nothing help but time.
Peace,
Judy
