The reason that Dr. Hale's book is excellent is because Tom Hale is one
of the only lactation pharmacologists in the country who has an indepth
knowledge of lactation physiology, which is evident as he describes how
medications are evaluated. Plus, if the hospital supervisor does not
like info from a book, then she is limited with her ability to evaluate
learning resources. He gives excellent scientific evidence for his
assertions.
Another excellent source that does not differ significantly from Hale is
the USA National Library of Medicine Lactmed, at
http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/. This is another evidence based resource that
unlike Hale's book, is free to the public.
