I know what you mean! For the record, again, here's what I end up
saying, or see others saying every time!

Domperidone doesn't require prescription in the UK, it's an over the
counter medication, and this probably accounts for the massive amounts
of it shipped out to the USA (it seems) from the UK, to mothers
requiring it.

It's a very 'safe' drug with an excellent record in terms of side
effects etc, and is well documented given it's widespread use for so
many years! Hence why the UK getting so confused by the USA stance,
which I kinda presume is a political/economic one, to do with licences.

You do not need domperidone to re-lactate! Relactation only requires
breast stimulation. I'm pretty sure you only need breast stimulation
per se, as in, can not have birthed, but still lactate, for most women.
You may choose to use it, but it is not necessary.

Domperidone can cause spontaneous lactation, with no other factor
involved. It's a well known side effect of the drug, and is well
documented.

Personally, by me, as it made me spontaneously lactate, when I was on it
for it's licensed use - in my case I was being treated for gastric reflux.

And you've never heard an "EEEEEK!" like it, when I was sat watching TV,
and felt my blouse was wet, and glanced down to discover my breasts
dripping milk...

And there was me a virgin too!!!! (Well, at least was not pregnant and
had never given birth!) Apologies to those who've heard this every
time, but the myths that Domperidone can't create lactation on its
own... and is NEEDED for relactation... gets on my... ahem... mammaries.
