Only 2 weeks til WBW! We could label July as annual bf bashing month.
However, I do agree that mothers giving bottles should be taught all about it
individually. Mixing, measuring (many people are not familiar with Tablespoon
type measuring,) sterilizing, powder vs liquid, ready to feed vs concentrate,
risks of under and overdilution, storage and time it's safe to keep it, risks to
lactation and future health, safe water issues, costs, paced/airway protective
method, quantity, frequency, burping, bottles, nipples, BPA, etc. Time for
demo/return demo, questions. Totally reasonable. Any time someone has to
use an assistive device, like a walker or crutches, they must be taught why
and how.
