"decision not to breastfeed"-- I believe that this may occur not just due to
complicating experiences, but discouragement from a failure of normal
lactogenesis II. This type of research rarely looks at cause and effect (ie,
hypertension/problems with lactogenesis II), but rather at associations
(hypertension and breastfeeding in general, or perhaps initiation, or
duration). While it cannot be proven from the article, given the other
evidence, I think there is good precedent to suggest that poor lactation
(beyond poor management) may be a significant factor in the 'decision not to
breastfeed.'
On the phytotherapy of hypertension article, I included it because it lists
fenugreek, and nettle, two galactogogue herbs, as having a historical use in
that part of the world for hypertension and/or diabetes, making them good
options (if want to have some type of intelligent rationale for your
choices) for women to consider in this situation.
