A warm smile for you all.
Irish Social Services deemed the evidence of Kerry Robertson's mothering
so good, they allowed Ben back to her last week, and dispatched them to
a mother-and-baby unit.
Today, one of the Irish IBCLC's, finally got to see them (Irish nuns in
charge of vulnerable mothers sometimes take a bit of shifting...)
Ben was fully formula fed by the time he was reunited with Kerry, last
Thursday. Within 48 hours, with no lactation support, Ben was back to
exclusive breastfeeding.
IBCLC happy with latch, positioning, weight gain; all factors indicating
an excellent mother-baby bond, and excellent mothering by the young girl
"Too stupid to have a baby that she would treat as a doll".
I'm so grateful, as are Ben, Kerry & Mark, to the support of the Irish
IBCLCs. Whom I cannot name, yet, as we need to preserve the family's
location and privacy, whilst social services continue on with their
assessment.
This is twice I have seen, or heard reports of, a separated
breastfeeding baby, who just Does The Work, and gets himself back to the
breast, as soon as the opportunity presents itself.
I think I can safely say, this is one baby who will not be living in
Fife, anytime soon.
Thank you all.
