I heard Bryan Vartabedian speak at the ILCA Conference last summer and he has some research that supports the uses of l.reuteri (a probiotic) for the treatment of colic/reflux.  I can't quite quote his research but he talked about it being as successful as using xantac and those types of medications.  So, there is some good research out there that supports this.

Not wanting to advertise for him, I won't list it here, but I know he wrote a book....and I think it's available online...
